Data Deletion Instructions for Social Scheduler
This page explains how to remove your connected social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X) and delete associated data stored by the Social Scheduler WordPress plugin within your WordPress website.
Our plugin connects to your social media accounts using the standard OAuth authorization flow provided by each platform (e.g., Facebook Login). When you connect an account, the plugin securely stores authentication tokens and basic account identifiers (like your Page ID or username) within your own WordPress database. Our intermediary OAuth Helper Application does not permanently store this token information after the initial connection setup.
    How to Delete Your Data:
To remove a connected social media account and delete the associated data stored by the Social Scheduler plugin:
    1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
    2. Navigate to the “Social Posts” menu in the left-hand sidebar.
    3. Click on the “Accounts” (or “Connected Accounts”) submenu item.
    4. You will see a list of your connected social media accounts, grouped by platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X).
    5. Locate the specific account you wish to remove.
    6. Click the “Disconnect” button next to that account.
    7. Confirm that you wish to disconnect the account when prompted.
    What Happens When You Disconnect:
    • Clicking “Disconnect” triggers the plugin to permanently delete the stored access token, refresh token (if applicable), account ID, account name, and token expiry information for that specific connection from your WordPress database.
    • The plugin will no longer be able to access that social media account or publish content to it unless you reconnect it later.
    • This action only deletes data stored by the Social Scheduler plugin within your WordPress database. It does not delete your actual social media account or any content previously published through the plugin.
    • To manage the connection from the social media platform’s side (e.g., to revoke the plugin’s access directly from Facebook settings), please refer to the respective platform’s settings or help documentation:
    o Facebook App Settings: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=applications
o Instagram App Settings (via Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=applications
    o Twitter/X Connected Apps: https://twitter.com/settings/connected_apps
